Abstract

Islamic work ethics has been the focus of increasing research, including its impact on organizational performance, leadership, and the development of a work culture based on Islamic values. Therefore, the present study aimed to map the development of the Islamic work ethics literature, including its contribution to the field of Islamic education, as well as provide insight into future research directions. Research on Islamic work ethics was identified globally through a bibliometric analysis of scientific publications in the years 2015-2025 using the Web of Science, Scopus, and Google Scholar databases. The results showed that there are three main stages in the development of Islamic work ethics: (1) conceptual exploration in the Islamic finance and education sector (2015-2017), (2) application in organizational management based on Islamic values (2018-2019), and (3) its impact on performance, job satisfaction, and organizational justice (2019-2025).Malaysia, Indonesia and Pakistan are the largest contributors, focusing on education, small and medium enterprises and Islamic banking. The present study also revealed research gaps such as the global application of Islamic work ethics, intercultural relations and its impact on multicultural generations
