Abstract
Introduction: This study aims to investigate the impact of self- transcendence on employee well-being among cemetery workers in Isfahan, with a particular focus on the mediating role of workplace spirituality and the moderating role of spiritual leadership.
Material and Methods:The research is applied in nature and adopts a descriptive-correlational design. The statistical population consisted of 169 employees working in cemeteries in Isfahan. A sample of 113 individuals was selected using Morgan and Krejcie’s table. Data were collected using standardized questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS 26 and SmartPLS 3.
Results: The results revealed that self- transcendence does not have a significant direct impact on employee well-being. Furthermore, workplace spirituality did not mediate the relationship between self- transcendence and employee well-being. However, spiritual leadership significantly moderated the relationship between self-transcendence and employee well-being. Additionally, self- transcendence had a significant positive impact on workplace spirituality, although workplace spirituality did not significantly influence employee well-being.
Conclusion: The findings underscore the importance of fostering self- transcendence and workplace spirituality in organizational settings, particularly in emotionally demanding work environments such as cemeteries. Moreover, spiritual leadership plays a crucial role in enhancing the well-being of employees. These insights can inform managers and organizational leaders in their efforts to improve employee quality of life and organizational performance.
